Backend & ML engineer. CTO at BANFES.
I build the systems behind education that has nowhere else to run — an EdTech platform serving 31,756 students across 229 schools in Afghanistan, designed for shared phones, unreliable power and intermittent bandwidth. I lead the technology of that platform across a team split between the UK, China and Afghanistan.
The core learning and assessment product: courses, exams, results, certification, school dashboards and payments, delivered over web and Android. Multilingual by design rather than by rebuild, and built so a learner without a computer or steady internet can still study, be assessed and be certified.
A gamified mother-tongue app that teaches Dari to Afghan children growing up abroad — built solo and published on Google Play, with real-time multiplayer games, progress tracking and subscriptions. Covered by BBC Dari and Afghanistan International; trade mark filed with the UK IPO.
The national selection platform for Afghanistan's first AI olympiad team: registration and identity checks, exam delivery for students who cannot sit an online paper, and published results — in English, Dari, Pashto and Uzbek.
An open-source tool for finding fast, reachable network routes from a censored connection — the practical problem behind staying online in the first place. Published for desktop and Android, with a related contribution made upstream to v2rayNG.
I'm a self-taught engineer. I started writing code at a school in Afghanistan and now lead the technology of a UK-registered EdTech company as its CTO — architecture, development, infrastructure and security.
Most of my work sits where engineering meets a hard constraint: students with no computer, a shared phone, an hour of electricity and a connection that drops for days. That shapes every decision — exams that work on paper and are graded by machine, lessons that reach places with no internet at all, and a system that keeps a learner's record intact when the country goes offline.
Alongside that I'm reading Computer Science at Kunming University of Science and Technology, and coordinating Afghanistan's first entry to the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence.
The quickest way to reach me is email. I read everything and reply in English, Dari or Chinese.
